The NDC exhibits at Subsea Expo

The NDC enjoyed exhibiting at Subsea Expo at the P& J Live last week.  At Stand 66 we showcased our Under Water Laser Cutting System (Phase II of research project now underway with partner Claxton Engineering involves the development of the UWLC system targeted at delivering a cutting tool suitable for a real offshore cutting scope, funded and supported by NZTC),  a 3D model of the Barrier Qualification Test Chamber (research project ongoing to provide a test rig to mimic high-temperature & high-pressure environments funded by Scottish Government’s Decommissioning Challenge) and demonstrated our Marine Simulator capabilities.   Also highlighted were our NDC Business Unit Testing Facilities.

Professor Richard Neilson, Dr Karen McArdle, Dr Sergi Arnau, Malcolm Stone, Dr Marcin Kapitaniak , Dr Keith Jackson and John Polanski manned the stand over the three days of the event.

Subsea Expo is organised by the Global Underwater Hub.  It is a world leading subsea exhibition and conference, held annually at the P&J Live in Aberdeen.  It includes the industry’s prestigious awards ceremony, the Subsea Expo Awards.  The exhibition is a quality-focused event showcasing the capabilities, innovations and cutting-edge technologies of the underwater sectors, with over 185 exhibitors and 6,500 delegates attending the latest show.  The conference runs multiple parallel sessions and attracts a broad range of experts to discuss the challenges facing the industry, new and transformational technologies, digitalisation, clean energy and the path to net zero, among other topics.
